Low-environmental-impact self-extinguishing materials to protect from fire, heat and atmospheric agents a bearing structure

This self- extinguishing material is compatible with a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composite which has to be protected.

This protective material is based on an "intumescent" additive, which blows up in case of fire (high temperature) and makes a char that grants a minor heat transmission to the structural layer, increasing this way the durability of the manufact.

This material is free of halogens, thus it does not release toxic gases in the air in case of fire.
