The mission of Pirelli Labs Optical Innovation is to conceive and to develop breakthrough technologies for new generation networks,  creating IPR and Know-How for industrial exploitation of new technologies in pace with market trends.

Pirelli Labs Optical Innovation activities are concentrated on three main lines of research,all of which are of great importance for telecommunications:

• photonics nanotechnologies;
• optical modules and systems;
• devices for home networking;
